The Lake County Clerk's Office has launched a new Vote-By-Mail Processing Center, a development local officials consider a significant landmark in the county's dedication to accessible, secure, and efficient election administration. The project was financed by federal funds.

Lake County Clerk Anthony Vega expressed his views on the unveiling of the new center in a Lake County press release. "As we unveil our state-of-the-art Vote-By-Mail Processing Center, we take a monumental step towards revolutionizing how our community engages in the democratic process. This cutting-edge facility epitomizes our commitment to making voting more accessible and efficient for all voters of Lake County," said Vega.

In relation to the partnership with BlueCrest, Valentino Guyett, BlueCrest director of Mail Operations shared some insights. According to a Lake County press release, BlueCrest, an automated high-integrity mail ballot solutions provider, collaborated with the Lake County Clerk's Office and supports its implementation of its ReliaVote Solution. The system automates ballot printing, envelope assembly and mailing to the voter, verification, sorting, and opening of envelopes upon their return.

Lake County Board Chair Sandy Hart also spoke about the county's commitment to improving voting accessibility. In another Lake County press release she said, "Lake County continues to be one of the leaders in the State of Illinois committed to improving and making the voting process more accessible and equitable for all residents thanks to the efforts of the County Clerk’s Office, Lake County Board, and our staff."
