The Village of Mundelein is set to commence offering 100% electronic requests for public records this week. This service will be available to residents and other interested parties through the NextRequest records portal, which is scheduled to go live online this week.
According to a press release from the Village of Mundelein, the online public portal, accessible at https://villageofmundeleinil.nextrequest.com/, utilizes NextQuest. This is a Freedom of Information (FOIA) management software powered by CivicPlus. The software empowers government agencies to receive requests via an online portal that automatically routes them to staff members. Furthermore, it facilitates the release of records to individuals or the public.
The same press release informs that the village will start accepting requests through the online portal from Jan. 22 onwards. The portal connects users with self-serve information, making previously published records immediately available. It also provides access to links that could potentially eliminate the need for a submission request.
As per another press release from the Village of Mundelein, the software has been designed to automatically route requests to staff members. Users are granted access to a portal where they can track and view requested documents.
