Village of Buffalo Grove Hr Director Kathryn "Katie" Golbach | Village of Buffalo Grove

The Village of Buffalo Grove has announced the promotion of Kathryn "Katie" Golbach to the position of Human Resources Director. Golbach's department is tasked with overseeing recruitment and retention, benefits and claims administration, labor management, training, and organizational development.

Village Manager Dane Bragg expressed his confidence in Golbach's capabilities in a statement. "She is an incredible asset to the Village, trusted and respected by her colleagues, and I am confident in her abilities to support both our current and next generation of public servants," said Bragg, according to a press release from Buffalo Grove.

Bragg further stated that Golbach had significantly improved the operations of the HR Department, enhancing employee experiences and increasing efficiency.

Golbach's career in local government commenced with the Village of Carpentersville in 2016. She joined the Village of Buffalo Grove as an HR management analyst in August 2018. In 2023, she ascended to the role of HR manager.

According to another press release from Buffalo Grove, Golbach has implemented several key initiatives during her tenure at the Village. These include an online open enrollment program and a new applicant tracking software. Additionally, she overhauled the performance evaluation program, drafted new policies along with revisions to the employee handbook, and recruited for numerous positions.

Golbach holds a degree from the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater and earned a Masters in Public Administration from Northern Illinois University.
