Waukegan Fire trains volunteers in disaster response skills

The Waukegan Fire Department is set to host free Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) training aimed at imparting basic disaster response skills. The CERT program represents a nationwide approach to volunteer training.

According to a press release from the City of Waukegan, the next cohort will commence on Thursday, March 21 at 7 p.m. Each session will span three hours and there will be seven sessions in total. Upon completion, graduates will receive a certificate from the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA).
