The Village of Vernon Hills has made its Fiscal Year 2025 draft budget available for public review. The fiscal year commences on May 1.

According to a press release from the Village of Vernon Hills, the proposed budget can be found on the Village Financial Documents webpage (https://www.vernonhills.org/182/Financial-Documents). This page also hosts other reports and past budgets for public access.

In anticipation of the new fiscal year, staff and trustees have been engaged in preparing, discussing, and reviewing the budget, as per another press release from the Village of Vernon Hills. The trustees are scheduled to review the budget during their meetings on March 5 and March 19. These meetings will commence at 7 p.m. at Village Hall, located at 290 Evergreen Drive.

A public hearing is tentatively slated for 6:55 p.m. on Tuesday, April 2, according to yet another press release from the Village of Vernon Hills.

As per the draft budget, Vernon Hills anticipates a $68.6 million fund balance on April 30. Revenue and other financing sources are projected to contribute $55.7 million, with expenditures and other fund uses estimated at $52.7 million. A surplus nearing $3 million is anticipated. The projected fund balance at the conclusion of the fiscal year on April 30, 2025, stands at $71.6 million.
