On Monday, the Village of Buffalo Grove Board of Trustees received a presentation from staff on the cloud-based BS&A software. This software has been instrumental in automating and streamlining the village's permit review, inspection, licensing, and planning processes.

According to the Village of Buffalo Grove Board of Trustees agenda for its March 4 meeting, when the village initially purchased and installed the software, it was only available as an on-premise server. However, the staff had plans to transition to the cloud-based option once it became available, which occurred in 2023.

The same source reveals that over the past six months, staff have been working diligently to implement, train on, and launch this software. Starting this month, they will collaborate with the Communications Department to elucidate the new features to residents, businesses and contractors.

With this technological shift, according to the March 4 meeting agenda of the Village of Buffalo Grove Board of Trustees, all permit and inspection processes can now be conducted paperlessly. Residents and contractors have access to a web portal where they can submit all permits and track their progress. Staff members and third-party partners associated with the village can actively engage with and input data into the BS&A portal at any time from any location.

The cloud-based software also provides a series of questions designed to guide customers in selecting appropriate permits for their projects as per information from the Village of Buffalo Grove Board of Trustees agenda for its March 4 meeting. The online portal allows them to request specific days and timeslots for inspections while keeping them informed about whether their requests have been confirmed, denied or modified.
