Representatives from the local school district are currently gathering gift cards to assist residents who have been displaced due to a partial roof collapse at a nearby apartment building. Donations of non-perishable foods and toiletry items are also being accepted.

According to a press release from the Village of Mundelein, residents have expressed interest in aiding those who were displaced from the apartment building located within the boundaries of Mundelein High School District and Hawthorn D73 district.

The same press release indicates that gift cards from stores such as Walmart, Target, Aldi, and Jewel are being accepted for the displaced apartment residents. Donations can be made through the Students Support Fund on RevTrak. Contributors should list "apartment damage" in the comments section.

School district representatives are ready to accept these gift cards on behalf of the affected residents, according to another press release from the Village of Mundelein. These representatives include Cassandra Lopez at the Easter District office; Jamie DiCarlo, Joanna Rodriguez, Veronica Huerta, or Melissa Yonkelowitz at the West District office; Stevee Libert or Hector Gonzalez at MHS; and Jorge Moncada or Karla Clark at District 75 buildings.
