Lake County's public access channel, LCTV, is set to undergo a modernization project aimed at upgrading equipment that has reached the end of its service life. The channel is accessible 24/7 online and through Comcast and AT&T in select locations.
The modernization project will commence on March 20, as per a Lake County press release. During this period, LCTV's channels on Comcast and AT&T will be unavailable, but viewers can still access the channel via lakecounty.tv. Furthermore, Lake County Committee and Board meetings will be broadcast live on Zoom throughout the duration of the construction phase, which is anticipated to last approximately two months.
According to another Lake County press release, the efficiency of LCTV staff operations will improve significantly as a result of this project. Additionally, the public can expect enhancements online. These improvements include high-definition (HD) content; a new dedicated website hosting all LCTV content; and automated closed captions and subtitles for committee and board meetings.
LCTV broadcasts committee and board meetings along with programming about Lake County government services and programs, according to a third Lake County press release.
