State Rep. Tom Weber recently had the privilege of acknowledging the achievements of two esteemed local leaders at the annual Emerging Women Leaders Conference & Recognition Event in Springfield. Lake Villa Police Chief Rochelle Tisinai and Fox Lake Police Chief Dawn DeServi were welcomed to the Capitol by Rep. Weber for their outstanding contributions to their communities. Both chiefs not only ascended to their positions but also share a common background of growing up in the area and attending Antioch High School.
The event was not just a platform for recognition but also a source of inspiration and empowerment for women in leadership roles. Among the distinguished panelists were Linda Renee Baker from the Paul Simon Public Policy Institute, Illinois Supreme Court Justice Lisa Holder White, Susan Hayes Gordon from Ann & Robert H. Lurie Children’s Hospital, and Decatur businesswoman Kara Demirjian Huss. The day's activities included a recognition brunch with numerous women leaders from across the state and a panel discussion aimed at motivating and supporting women leaders.
In reflecting on the event, Rep. Weber expressed his admiration for the dedication and impact of Chief Tisinai and Chief DeServi, stating, "There is nothing better than seeing people who are able to grow and give back to their communities in such an important way. Thank you to Dawn and Rochelle for all the work you do to serve, protect and make a difference in our communities in District 64!"
