Lake County has renewed an intergovernmental agreement, enabling the Lake County Sheriff's Office to continue providing contractual police services for the next three years. The contract is valued at approximately $2.3 million.

According to the Lake County Board's agenda for its April 9 meeting, the joint resolution with Long Grove encompasses services from May 1 to April 30, 2027.

The Lake County Sheriff's Office has a long-standing relationship with Long Grove, having provided police services for 19 years. As stated in the Lake County Board's agenda for its April 9 meeting, the contract stipulates two 8½-hour shifts per day, equating to a total of 17 hours per day, every day of the year.

The renewal contract underwent a thorough review process. According to the same source, it was scrutinized by the Lake County State's Attorney's Office. Additionally, the Finance Department examined the costing model and the Risk Department reviewed insurance requirements.

The cost of two contracted deputy positions will be reimbursed throughout all three years of service, as noted in the Lake County Board's agenda for its April 9 meeting.
