The Illinois Department of Transportation (IDOT) has announced upcoming roadwork that will impact motorists in Spring Grove. According to IDOT, repairs to the shoulders on U.S. 12, between Sunset and Wilmot roads, will necessitate lane closures. The closures will reduce traffic to a single lane with flaggers present, weather permitting, from 7:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday, April 16.
IDOT has assured the public that despite the lane closures, "Access to businesses and residences will be maintained." However, drivers should be prepared for potential delays. IDOT advises motorists to "allow extra time for trips through this area" to account for any slowdowns caused by the roadwork.
In addition, IDOT has issued a reminder to all drivers passing through the affected area. They stated, "Drivers are urged to pay close attention to flaggers and signs in the work zones, obey the posted speed limits and be on the alert for workers and equipment." These safety precautions are essential to ensure the well-being of both road workers and passing motorists.
As the repair work progresses on U.S. 12 in Spring Grove, IDOT encourages all drivers to remain vigilant, patient, and compliant with the guidance provided in the work zones.
