Brad Schneider, representing the 10th District of Illinois in the U.S. House of Representatives, said that bipartisan members of Congress brew beer together as part of Anheuser Busch's Brew Across America challenge, fostering camaraderie and collaboration. Schneider was on a recent episode of the Lake Forest podcast.
"It's members of Congress, bipartisan Republican, Democrat, we meet with their expert," said Schneider on the Lake Forest podcast. "We brew beer, I did it with a guy from Oklahoma, Kevin Hern. We went down to 312, picked out the hops and everything, we created a recipe for our beer. We didn't win; everyone said we had the best beer, but it was a rigged election."
“We have to come up with a name for your beer, we call it our beer-giving tip,” said Schneider. “Ronald Reagan, the Gipper, and Tip O'Neill, because they would get together after hours and have a beer. In fact, Ronald Reagan would sneak out of the White House to go meet Tip O'Neill to grab a drink, we got to get back to work, sit down, and talk to each other, something I'm committed to. Kevin's on the Ways and Means committee with me, we work well together, we did that, and we'll be back at it next year trying to win it again."
