The Lake County Division of Transportation (LCDOT) is seeking public input on its plans to improve Riverwoods Road and Duffy Lane in southeastern Lake County. The 3R project's goal is to resurface, restore, and rehabilitate these roads.

According to a Lake County press release, the project area includes Riverwoods Road from Deerfield Road to Half Day Road (IL 22), and Duffy Lane from Riverwoods to west of the I-94 bridge. LCDOT anticipates installing a new asphalt surface, evaluating wider shoulders, improving roadway drainage, and enhancing non-motorized travel opportunities. This would include a new path along Duffy Lane.

A virtual forum has been created for the public to share ideas and questions on the project through July 12. The interactive comment map allows users to choose an exact location for input, which goes directly to the project study team.

Other ways to submit input include by email at DO@lakecountyil.gov or by mail at Lake County Division of Transportation, 600 W. Winchester Road, Libertyville, IL 60048. According to the press release, the project will take a few years to plan, coordinate, and design before construction begins.
