Andy Dalkin, Lake County Board candidate, said local issues, not national ones, are what matter for the county board, and that voters should consider local concerns independently of their national party affiliations in upcoming elections. Dalkin was on a recent episode of the Lake Forest podcast.
"When I was there, we tried to elect the Democrats who we thought were going to be the best for us," said Dalkin on the Lake Forest podcast. "At least that's who I would vote for if I had to choose, but I mean, I think she'll do a great job. In Lake County, the issues that we deal with on the county board are local issues; they're not the issues of abortion, gun control, or national security—it's those local issues that are important."
“You can vote for Joe Biden if you want and still vote for me or Mary Cole because the issues that we're dealing with are not those national issues, they're local issues that are important to everybody," said Dalkin. "You can split the ticket in Nov., and hopefully, people who generally voted straight Democrat will do that.”
