The Solid Waste Agency of Lake County (SWALCO) is organizing a free event in Antioch on August 17 to collect unwanted household chemicals. The event, which requires an appointment, offers residents a safe way to dispose of items such as fertilizers, household batteries, cleaners, aerosol products, and more.
The collection will take place on Saturday, August 17 from 8 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. at the Antioch Public Works Department located at 796 Haley Street, Antioch, IL.
A list of accepted materials is available for review. This event is designated for residential waste only and exclusively for Illinois residents. Participants with Wisconsin plates must present a valid Illinois ID.
