In response to the September 10, 2024, presidential debate, Jim Carris issued a media statement expressing his concerns over partisanship and gridlock in Washington.

"Last night’s debate exposed what Americans already know—partisanship and gridlock in Washington is out of control. While both parties bicker and prioritize politics over progress, families struggle with soaring costs, concerns about personal safety, and the stress of an unstable economy," Carris stated.

He criticized the indecision and lack of immediate action on critical issues such as bringing American hostages home. "The safe return of the hostages is nonnegotiable – it’s a fact that needs to be realized, not a talking point. We need leadership that stands firm for Israel and sets a precedent on the global stage."

Carris also targeted Brad Schneider, accusing him of failing to deliver solutions during his decade-long tenure. "Brad Schneider has had a decade to deliver, and he’s failed. He has no plan, no solutions, and refuses to debate me because he fears accountability. Our District deserves better than a career politician who dodges responsibility."
