Kimberly Carris, wife of Jim Carris, has authored an op-ed supporting her husband's candidacy for the United States Congress to represent Illinois’ 10th District. In her piece, she reflects on the various ways people are called to serve their communities and emphasizes the importance of giving back.

She describes Jim's decision to run for Congress as a difficult one, involving sacrifices from his professional career and family life. Kimberly highlights Jim's background as a business leader, attorney, father, husband, and son of an immigrant who values hard work and opportunity. She notes that their family's experiences have made them aware of the challenges faced by many families in the district.

"Jim running for Congress was not an easy decision," Kimberly writes. "Walking away from a gratifying professional career, taking time to campaign, and putting our family on the front line isn’t easy."

She further outlines Jim's qualifications for Congress: "The reason that I know Jim is ready for this role is because he has deep knowledge of many of the sectors that affect our country’s policies, a hunger to learn from others, an incredible work ethic, and a strong sense of pride and gratitude for our country."

Kimberly appeals to voters in the 10th District by asking them if they can afford more years under current policies. She advocates for change through different thinking and voting patterns: "One of the things I’ve learned in my life is that if you are unhappy with the way things are going, then change them."

Kimberly concludes by urging residents to consider voting for her husband: "If you care about your family and friends, please consider voting for my husband JIM CARRIS for Congress."
