Brad Schneider, a candidate for Illinois' 10th Congressional District, has chosen to campaign in Pennsylvania and Michigan during the final days before Election Day. This decision has drawn criticism from his opponent, Jim Carris.
Carris, the Republican candidate for the district, expressed his concerns in a statement: “Brad Schneider’s ‘Anywhere but Our District’ tour is a slap in the face to the families of Illinois’ 10th District.”
He criticized Schneider for leaving the district at a time when local communities are dealing with rising costs and crime. According to Carris, Schneider's focus on campaigning outside of Illinois indicates that he prioritizes personal political ambitions over his constituents.
Carris also pointed out economic challenges faced by residents under Schneider's tenure. He noted that families are paying significantly more for living expenses than they were three and a half years ago. Additionally, home prices have increased by an average of 8% across the district, and electricity bills have reached $115.92 on average in Illinois.
In his statement, Carris argued that voters deserve representation from someone who prioritizes their needs rather than pursuing political advancement. He concluded by urging voters not to re-elect politicians who prioritize personal gain over public service.
