City of Highland Park Human Relations Advisory Group met Nov. 19

CALL TO ORDER: At 7:05 PM, Member Fishman called the Human Relations Advisory Group (HRAG) special meeting to order and Staff Liaison Earle called the roll.

ROLL CALL:

Members Present: Members Fishman, Harris, Luger, Gussin

Members Absent: Chair Tiersky, Vice-Chair Canchester, Members Buzard, Facchini, Jasenof, Weisskopf

Also Present: Student Liaison Fox, Staff Liaison Earle

A quorum was not present.

COMMENTS FROM THE PUBLIC

BUSINESS

(a) CommUNITY Conversation Pilot

Member Fishman led the second CommUNITY Conversation Pilot discussion:

1. Welcome

2. Why are we here?

3. Ground Rules

4. Who we are – composition and consequences

a. History & Structures (broadly); short video shown

b. Composition & History (locally)

5. Belonging and Highland Park as home (fostering)

6. Takeaways (future focused)

Members engaged in large and small group discussion throughout the meeting. The purpose of this pilot meeting is to practice and prepare for the launch of the CommUNITY Conversation program in the community.

ADJOURNMENT

Member Fishman entertained a motion to adjourn the meeting. A motion was made by Member Harris and seconded by Member Gussin. The motion passed with a unanimous vote of the members present.

The meeting was adjourned at 8 PM.
