Skoo Walker, a founding and recurring co-host of the Lake Forest Podcast, said that the caucus should use its database to contact those who have served in the past for open positions like "alderman" spots. He said they should reach out directly to those with prior "service experience," but he “bets” this is not being done.
"I was referred in a couple of positions by people within the community and within the city," Walker told host Joe Weiss on the Lake Forest podcast. "The way the caucus should be doing this: they take the referrals, but they also should be reaching out into their database if they have to fill a position and calling those people.”
“For example, if there is an open alderman spot, they should be pulling the VSPs from past plan commission, building review board, those types of people that have already served, and calling them," said Walker. "You know, 'Hey, listen, Joe, I know you served on the plan. We have an opening in the Third Ward Alderman. Would you be interested?' I can bet you they're not doing that.”
