The request, made by the Lake County Gazette, a media organization dedicated to providing comprehensive and accurate news coverage on local governmental affairs, sought information regarding the number of non-U.S. citizens currently enrolled in the school district.
The Lake County Gazette's inquiry is part of its ongoing commitment to hold public institutions accountable and provide transparency to the public. The organization believes that access to such public records is essential for fulfilling its professional responsibilities.
In the request, the Lake County Gazette also asserted its eligibility for a fee waiver as a media professional involved in gathering and reporting news to the public.

The average student-to-administrative ratio is 141:1, and the average student-to-teacher ratio is 17:1. Furthermore, it's worth noting that 58% of teachers in Illinois have a master's degree or higher.
