The Village of Vernon Hills announced the continuation of its grant program for social service agencies that assist local residents.

According to the Village of Vernon Hills, organizations interested in applying for the 2025 Social Service Grant must submit their applications to Village Hall by February 28, 2025. The village will announce grant recipients in April, with funding distributed in May at the start of the fiscal year.

The village is currently reviewing applications for these grants and encourages organizations to apply for funding that supports essential services for residents. Although funding is limited, the village recognizes the critical role these agencies play within the community. Elizabeth Koehl serves as the point of contact for any inquiries and is accepting applications directly, as noted in the 2025 Grant Cover Letter from the Village of Vernon Hills.

Koehl is the executive secretary in the Village of Vernon Hills Manager's Office, which manages coordination across all village departments and divisions. This office ensures successful completion of multi-department projects, sets priorities for the village, and acts as a primary link between the village board and employees. It also executes directives and policies set by elected officials while working closely with local agencies, commissions, and other governmental units.

The Village of Vernon Hills functions as the local government entity for Vernon Hills, Illinois. It is led by an elected president and Board of Trustees who oversee various departments responsible for different aspects of village operations such as development, public safety, infrastructure, and financial management. The current president is Roger Byrne. The village offers additional services including citizen recognition programs, senior initiatives, sustainability efforts, and special events.
