On January 28, 2025, a Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) request was sent to the Forest Ridge School District 142. The request was made by the Lake County Gazette, a media organization committed to providing comprehensive and accurate news coverage on local governmental affairs.
The FOIA request specifically sought copies of all emails and memos from the past year that contained the keywords "Lucy Calkins" and "Units of Study". As part of our commitment to transparency and accountability in public institutions, we at the Lake County Gazette believe that access to these records is crucial for our reporting.
We are dedicated to keeping the public informed about local government activities. Access to such records allows us to fulfill our professional responsibilities effectively. Given our role in disseminating information, we have requested a fee waiver as a media professional under the Illinois Freedom of Information Act.
