The Lake County Sheriff's Office has announced a partnership between Sheriff John Idleburg and the Illinois Sheriffs’ Association (ISA) to offer a scholarship opportunity. This announcement was made in a news release on January 18, 2025.
According to the Lake County Sheriff's Office, ISA announced over $58,000 in scholarships will be available for the 2025-2026 academic year. These scholarships aim to support students attending certified Illinois-based institutions, including online programs. The funds can be used for tuition, books, and fees, with full-time enrollment being a requirement.
Sheriff Idleburg is offering a $500 scholarship specifically for residents of Lake County. Applicants must complete the scholarship application form, answer an essay question, and submit all necessary documentation by March 14, 2025. For those residing outside Lake County, applications should be submitted to their respective local sheriff’s office. Further information can be obtained from local sheriff’s offices, the Illinois Sheriffs’ Association, or high school advising centers/college financial aid offices.
