The Village of Mundelein is celebrating a significant milestone this year - the centennial anniversary of its first fire truck, a 1925 Stoughton. This historic vehicle was gifted to the village by Cardinal Mundelein.

Remarkably, the same fire truck remains in the possession of the village and is still operational. "There are not many communities in Illinois that can say that they have their very first fire truck that can still run," said a village representative.

Throughout the year, residents and visitors can anticipate various celebrations commemorating the 100th anniversary of what has been dubbed Old Number One.
