The City's annual Spring Clean-Up program for single-family residential customers is set to commence on four consecutive Saturdays, starting April 26 and ending May 17. The program will coincide with residents' primary refuse collection day.
Residents are advised to place items for collection at the curb no later than 7 AM on their designated spring clean-up day. To maintain cleanliness, residents should not place materials out for collection earlier than one week prior.
Schedule:
- Monday primary collection: Saturday, April 26
- Tuesday primary collection: Saturday, May 3
- Thursday primary collection: Saturday, May 10
- Friday primary collection: Saturday, May 17
Lakeshore Recycling Systems will pick up all allowed oversized items placed at the curb on scheduled Spring Clean-Up days. Only one cubic yard of construction material will be accepted and it must be bundled so that one person can lift it into the truck. Carpeting must be rolled and should not exceed a weight that is manageable by one person. Waste material generated by general contractors will not be accepted.
For appliance collections such as refrigerators/freezers (doors must be removed), stoves, dishwashers, washers/dryers, furnaces/boilers, hot water heaters, air conditioners, and microwave ovens residents must call Lakeshore Recycling Systems at 844.633.3577 to arrange for a special pick-up. The city encourages residents to start spring cleaning early by utilizing year- round bulk item pickup service. Each week LRS accepts one 'bulk' item at no charge such as tables or chairs. If more than one bulk item needs pickup on a regular collection day (not during Spring Clean-Up), residents should call LRS for a removal quote.
Lakeshore Recycling Systems collects either one large electronic item under50 lbsor three small electronic waste items on customers' first pickup day of each month.
