Blood donation drive offers rewards amid national shortage

On Feb 11, 2025, an ongoing national blood shortage was highlighted with a call to action for potential donors.

To participate in the drive, individuals can schedule an appointment by contacting Vitalant at 877.258.4825 using group code ORD0MN10, scanning the QR code provided, or visiting donors.vitalant.org.

Incentives are being offered to encourage donations. All donors will receive a $10 Rewards gift card as part of the Donor Rewards program, which requires opt- in and is redeemable via email. Additionally, presenting donors will be given a coupon for a pint of frozen custard from Culver's.

While appointments are recommended to streamline the process, walk-ins will also be accommodated.

Potential donors are advised to prepare by eating well and staying hydrated before their appointment. It is also necessary to bring identification on the day of donation.
