E-learning day due to winter weather | Granite City Community Unit School District 9
Granite City Community Unit School District #9 has announced a transition to an e-learning day on Wednesday, February 19, 2025, due to winter weather conditions. There will be no in-person classes for students and teachers.
The decision was made with the safety and well-being of students and staff in mind.
On an e-learning day, students have the flexibility to complete their work at home, with teachers available from 9 a.m. until 2 p.m. to support student learning. Detailed instructions can be found on the GCSD9 website under GCSD9 E-Learning.
The administration expressed appreciation for the community's flexibility and understanding during these weather conditions.
"Due to the current winter weather conditions, Granite City Community Unit School District #9 will transition to an E-LEARNING DAY on Wednesday, February 19, 2025, with no in-person classes for students and teachers," said the announcement.
"As a reminder, an E-Learning Day allows students the flexibility to complete their work at home with teachers available from 9am until 2pm to support student learning. Please follow the link on the GCSD9 website for detailed instructions: GCSD9 E-LEARNING."
"Agradecemos su flexibilidad y comprensión durante estas difíciles condiciones climáticas," added the Spanish version of the announcement.
The district urged everyone to stay safe during this period.
