The City of Lake Forest is part of the North Shore Electricity Aggregation Consortium, a coalition comprising seven communities, including the Villages of Deerfield, Glencoe, Lake Bluff, Northbrook, Skokie, and the City of Highland Park. The Consortium aims to secure affordable electric aggregation supply for its residents and small businesses. Chicago-based MC Squared Energy Services, LLC (MC2) has been selected to serve the Consortium with electric supply from October 2024 through October 2025.

Each participating community receives an annual Civic Contribution from MC2 to support sustainability and other goals established by each municipality. MC2 will provide eligible residents and small businesses with electric supply pricing equal to the monthly ComEd published tariff supply rate during the remaining six-month term of the program.

As required by state regulation, notifications have been sent to all residential and small business account holders as part of the City’s annual review of the program. These notices are intended to inform new customers who have moved into Lake Forest and those who may benefit from changing electricity consumption patterns.

If you receive a notice stating that you will be automatically enrolled unless you opt out, no action is required unless you wish to opt out. If you remain enrolled:

- You will still be a ComEd customer for electricity delivery and metering.

- You will continue paying ComEd in the same manner without any billing changes.

- MC Squared Energy Services will not cost more than the ComEd published tariff rate.

- ComEd remains responsible for wires, poles, emergencies, including outage restoration.

- There are no enrollment or early termination fees under this program.

- Participation in community solar savings programs will not be impacted.

You have 21 days from the date on your notice to contact MC Squared if you’d like to opt out via one of these methods:

- Calling 1 (855) 697-0286 between Monday and Friday from8 amto5 pm

- Visiting mc2energyservices.com/municipal-aggregation/optout

- Returning the card enclosed with your letter by March31

- Scanning the QR code located on your card using your mobile device

Your electric supply pricing will always match the ComEd tariff supply rate; there are no additional fees or increased rates associated with participation. Additionally, there are no termination fees; you may leave at any time. Additional questions can be directed towards Office Manager at (847)810-3677
