Garbage Cart | City of Lake Zurich
Lake Zurich has designated March as Garbage Cart Awareness Month to reinforce the village's requirements for storing refuse and recycling carts. Throughout the month, the Village will conduct compliance checks to ensure residents adhere to established guidelines.
The key points of the collection and storage information are as follows:
1. Refuse and recycling carts should be stored inside garages or outside in fully enclosed garbage cart enclosures at the rear or side of houses.
2. Items should be placed curbside for pickup no earlier than 7:00 pm the night before garbage day and no later than 7:00 am on garbage day.
3. A weekly bulk item pickup is included in LRS service for residents in Plan A (the largest carts). One weekly bulk item is defined as an item weighing 50 pounds or less and shorter than four feet in length, excluding construction debris or hazardous materials.
