New Trier High School is conducting its annual climate survey using the Comprehensive School Climate Inventory (CSCI) from March 3 to March 31. This initiative, mandated by the State of Illinois, seeks feedback from students, staff, and parents to evaluate perceptions of the school environment. The survey covers topics such as safety, teaching and learning, interpersonal relationships, social media, and institutional environment.
The data collected will help New Trier improve school programming and interventions. "Considerable research has demonstrated that a safe, supportive school climate has a positive impact on student learning," according to the press release. The CSCI was developed by the National School Climate Center based on extensive research in school climate.
Parents are encouraged to participate by completing surveys for each campus their children attend. Links for these surveys were emailed on February 26. Students will have the opportunity to complete the survey during Advisery sessions in early March. All responses are anonymous and must be submitted by March 31, 2025.
