On March 10, 2025, several announcements were made addressing various topics relevant to students and the community.
Chef Special:
The menu includes Southwestern Mac & Cheese served with a whole grain garlic bread stick, mixed green salad, green beans, baby whole carrot with dip, and assorted fruit.
LinQ Wi-Fi Network:
Students without internet access at home can utilize LinQ, a community-based Wi-Fi network covering much of the school district. UT Chromebooks will connect automatically. Coverage areas can be checked during lunch on projectors or entrance hallway TVs.
Senior Baby Ads:
Seniors and their parents/guardians are informed about newly open spots for senior baby ads in the 2025 yearbook. Each ad costs $30 for 1/8 of a page. Sixteen spots are available on a first-come-first-served basis. Ads must be purchased with cash or check and submitted by 3 pm Wednesday, March 12. Mrs. Green in room 126E has the necessary forms.
Clubs:
Panther Pant is scheduled for Wednesday, April 23rd from 6-8 pm after spring break. This event is one of Student Council's major fundraisers aimed at supporting events like Homecoming and Dance Marathon. Registration is open now through flyers in the hallways.
H.O.P.E Club highlights the importance of sleep for eye health: "While we sleep, our eyes are able to naturally repair damaged cells and tissues, replenish tear film that protects and lubricates the eye, and get an oxygen boost important to optimal eye function. "
Lack of sufficient sleep may lead to dry eyes, eyestrain, blurred vision, eye twitching, dark circles under eyes, and even serious conditions resulting in vision loss. Blue light emitted by screens can disrupt sleep patterns by inhibiting melatonin release.
Guidance:
Seniors are reminded that many scholarships have deadlines approaching on March 13th. Most scholarships are exclusively for UT students. The list can be found on Google Classroom or in the counseling office; Mrs. Drish is available for questions.
