The Coal City Community Unit School District 1’s boys and girls golf teams both earned conference wins against Manteno on Tuesday. The girls team finished with a score of 227 to Manteno’s 232, while the boys team posted a 184 over Manteno’s 202.
For the girls, Josephine Kline led with a score of 53, followed by Kayla Kowalski, Kylan Colambuono, and Liv Sulzberger, each scoring 58.
On the boys side, sophomores Jaxon Duke, Trevor Walker, Cody Scheer, and freshman Reed Sulzberger all finished with a score of 46.
“It was a great team effort,” Coach Harlan Kennell said.
Following these results, the Coalers boys team holds a conference record of 2-1 and is 3-3 overall. The girls team is now at an overall record of 2-2.
