Ben Clausen ACHS Student of the month for March | Antioch Community High School
Antioch Community High School has named senior Ben Clausen as the Student of the Month for March. In addition to earning recognition, Clausen will receive a free pizza from Antioch Pizza.
Several of Clausen's teachers shared their thoughts on his contributions to both academics and school activities:
"Ben is a terrific student! He's very driven to do the best he can in everything he does, be it academics or athletics, and he's a polite, well- mannered guy to boot! He's an absolute pleasure to have in class," said Audrey Nagel-Schoonmaker.
"I don't really know Ben, but he's in NEHS, and he volunteered to escort Storytellers presenters from the Green Room to their workshop space. I told all the NEHS kids what their jobs were, and I never once had to remind any of them, Ben included! He showed up every day on time, and he got our presenters to their workshops without incident," remarked Jamie D’Andrea.
"He consistently works hard in PE, brings great energy to class, and is a pleasure to have as a student," said Christopher Bailey about Clausen's performance in physical education classes.
Coach Frank Fracek praised Clausen's impact on his teammates: "There are not enough great things to say about him and his impact on teammates. Ben is arguably the smartest guy in most rooms he walks into... His positive energy and vibes bring out the best in others. "
Lindsay Edwardson commented on having Clausen in her True Crime course: "It was so much fun to have Ben in True Crime last semester! He always asked great questions. "
Sarah Ogborn got acquainted with Clausen during a trip abroad: "I only know Ben because of our trip to Costa Rica and Panama... When we were stuck in the Miami airport, Ben's attitude was totally positive despite the situation. "
Whitney Walsh concluded by highlighting Clausen's enduring positivity since his freshman year: "As a student, he was always respectful... Even when he doesn't want to do something he always has a good attitude towards getting it done. "
