John Kass, a former columnist for the Chicago Tribune, said Chicago Democrats, including Governor J.B. Pritzker, have enabled situations like the one reported in Deerfield, Illinois. Kass made his comments on March 19 in response to an incident involving a teenage girl at Alan B. Shepard Middle School.

"What Dems Have Done to Deerfield girl—and the rest of Illinois—is Just Plain AWFL," said Kass, Writer, Co-host of The Chicago Way podcast. "You hear that gruesome story of the 13-year-old middle-school girl from Deerfield confronted by school officials and ordered to disrobe in front of a male classmate? It sounds too AWFL to be true."

According to Nicole Georgas, the mother of the 13-year-old girl involved, her daughter was pressured by school officials to change clothes in front of a male classmate. Georgas testified about the incident at a District 109 School Board meeting on March 13. She claims this situation violated her daughter's privacy and has filed complaints with both local police and the U.S. Department of Justice.

Kass highlighted that Governor Pritzker supports policies allowing students to use facilities based on their gender identity. Despite President Trump's executive order aimed at protecting girls' privacy by threatening to cut off funding to non-compliant states, Illinois remains financially supported by Pritzker. "Illinois Democrats are funded by billionaire Gov. JB Pritzker, who is the bankrupt state’s leading activist for transexuals," Kass said.

During the school board meeting, Georgas expressed her concerns: "The male student was present in the girls’ locker room. Feeling violated, the girls made the choice not change into their PE (physical education) clothes with a biological male present." She alleged that three administrators entered the locker room and insisted they change into uniform. "This went on all week," she added. "My daughter refused to take part in her privacy being violated."

J.K. Rowling also commented on the incident: "I’d remove my daughter instantly from that school, then go full Nemesis."
