Cuba Township announces compost giveback event for May 10

Cuba Township has announced a SWALCO donation of 20 cubic yards of compost to share with residents on Saturday, May 10, 2025, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. This initiative is part of the celebration for International Compost Awareness Week (ICAW).

Residents are invited to bring a 20-gallon bucket to fill with compost for their gardens. Additionally, free milkweed and bee balm seeds will be available for the first 100 attendees, along with materials focused on Compost Awareness Week, which runs from May 4-10, 2025.

The township also encourages visits to composting partner Linda McGill at SafeHouse Alpacas.

"This donation we share with you in celebration of International Compost Awareness Week (ICAW)," said the announcement.
