The Village of Lake Zurich invites residents to celebrate Annual Arbor Day on Saturday, April 26. The event focuses on planting, nurturing, and celebrating trees and their contributions to the community.
The schedule begins with a Tree-Planting Ceremony at 9 a.m. at Paulus Park near the Barn, involving the Lake Zurich Tree Commission and Ancient Oaks Foundation.
From 9 a.m. to noon, attendees can participate in SWALCO Paper Shredding (ending when the truck is full) and enjoy a SWALCO Free Compost Giveaway, reminding participants to bring their own buckets and shovels while supplies last.
Additional activities from 9:15 a.m. to noon include a free tree sapling giveaway, a park scavenger hunt, and a Community Painting Project with Do Art Productions. Residents will also have the opportunity to engage in discussions over coffee and cocoa with village representatives about local topics related to Lake Zurich's natural areas at Paulus Park Barn.
Finally, from 10:30 a.m. to noon, there will be a Community Park Cleanup effort.
