Larry Kane Fire Chief | Buffalo Grove Fire Department
Due to rising costs associated with supplying electricity, certain residential and commercial accounts in Buffalo Grove are being moved from the Village's Electrical Aggregation Program (with supply from mc2) back to ComEd. There will be no change to pricing, service reliability, or the program’s commitment to green renewable energy. Affected customers will be notified by mail next week, and no action is required on their part.
Additionally, a second group of households who have not previously participated in the Electrical Aggregation Program will receive an opt-out notification informing them of their enrollment in the program. There will be no change to price or service reliability with this program enrollment; participation simply allows the Village to receive Renewable Green Energy Certificates and maintain its recognition as an EPA Green Power Community.
It is important to note that not all households will receive an opt-out letter as this is not a general enrollment period. Some residents may already be enrolled or have previously opted out. Customers can choose to opt out using instructions provided in the letter if they wish.
For more information on the Village’s Electrical Aggregation program, residents are encouraged to visit the designated webpage.
