During the City Council Meeting on Monday, April 21, 2025, Director of Parks and Recreation Mike Wick delivered a positive report on athletic field utilization at Deerpath Community Park. According to Wick, over 3,000 hours of athletic field use were recorded in 2024, with strong participation from local user groups. This engagement puts the City on track to achieve its long-term goal of funding future turf replacement through accumulating rental revenue.

As a result of the presentation and subsequent discussion, the City Council unanimously approved a $5/hour increase for field rentals. Despite this adjustment, Lake Forest's rates remain affordable and competitive. The initial graduated pricing plan, which started below market rates to build demand, has proven successful. It also ensures sufficient time for open play and maintains affordability for Lake Forest leagues and families.
