LFHS student honored with sportsmanship award during track invitational

At the Boys Track and Field Invitational hosted at LFHS on Saturday, April 26, an IHSA official took a moment to recognize outstanding character. The official, who had been carrying a special Illinois Track and Cross Country Officials Association (ITCCOA) Sportsmanship Award baton for quite some time, felt it was finally time to pass it on.

In a heartwarming gesture during the meet, Xavier Scott received the ITCCOA Sportsmanship Award. The official commented on Scott's exemplary behavior, saying, "His positive attitude and sportsmanship stood out. "

Scott's recognition has resonated with many in the community. Supporters expressed their delight in seeing his good character acknowledged. "His positive attitude and sportsmanship stood out, and we’re thrilled to see him honored in this way. Way to go, Xavier!" said one supporter.
