Steve Lentz Mayor | Mundelein Village
The village of Mundelein announced that water and sewer rates will increase by 4.5% starting June 1, 2025, due to a rise in provider rates. The adjustment aims to cover both the cost of the water supplier and operational expenses for all Mundelein homes. This increase is noted to be less than the 5% hike the Village faces in purchasing water.
A minimum bill covering six units will be charged to all accounts each billing period to partially offset fixed operational costs. One billing unit equals 100 cubic feet or 750 gallons.
The Storm Water Fee, a flat utility charge used for mitigating flooding issues and maintaining the stormwater system, is based on parcel size with a minimum fee set at $3 per month or $6 per bi-monthly billing.
Senior citizens may qualify for a discount of $21.95 per billing period if usage is 15 units or less. Residents aged 65 years or older living within the Village can apply for this discount either in-person or online at Water Bill | Mundelein, IL.
