Buffalo Grove Police Department hosts supply drive for mothers in need

Throughout May, the Buffalo Grove Police Department is collecting items for the Illinois Department of Children and Family Services (DCFS). This government agency is responsible for protecting children from abuse and neglect, investigating reports of child maltreatment, providing services to families in need, and ensuring the safety and well-being of children. DCFS also facilitates foster care, adoption, and family reunification when necessary, working to support at-risk children and strengthen families.

The following items are accepted:

- Diapers

- Wipes

- Bottles

- Pacifiers

- Sippy Cups

- Feeding Supplies

- Formula (new, unopened, and not expired)

- Baby and children’s clothes (all sizes)

- Blankets

- Burp cloths

- Baby soap, shampoo & lotion

- Breast pumps & materials

- Infant essentials

Items must be new and unopened. Donations can be dropped off 24 hours a day in the donation box located in the Police Department Lobby at 46 Raupp Boulevard.

The department expressed gratitude by saying: "Thank you for supporting local moms and babies in need. "
