Detectives from the Lake County Sheriff's Office are investigating an armed robbery that took place on May 22 at a fast-food restaurant in Beach Park.
According to a Facebook post by the Sheriff's Office, deputies responded to the incident at the restaurant located in the 38900 block of North Lewis Road, Beach Park, at 7:35 p.m. The two employees present during the robbery were unharmed.
The post detailed that a light-skinned man, estimated to be in his late 20s to mid-30s, entered the establishment wearing a black hooded sweatshirt, black pants, black shoes, and a surgical mask. He brandished a knife and demanded money before fleeing with cash from the register.
The Sheriff's Office said that a canine unit was deployed and tracked the suspect's trail to a nearby parking lot east of the restaurant. This suggests that he may have left in a vehicle.
Sheriff's detectives are continuing their investigation. They urge anyone with information to contact them through their website or reach out to Lake County CrimeStoppers.
