At a special reorganizational meeting on May 6, the District 109 Board of Education bid farewell to two veteran members, Sari Montgomery and Andrew Morrison. Mrs. Montgomery served on the board for 12 years, most recently as President, while Mr. Morrison was a member for six years. Both played roles in developing the mission, vision, and values of Define 109, the strategic plan guiding the future of local schools.

"We are so thankful for their service to our District and community," said a representative from the board.

In their place, newly elected members Remoun Abraham and David Murav joined the board following their election in April's municipal elections. Their arrival comes at a time when the community is focused on addressing "The Anxious Generation" and engaging with constituents to understand needs related to school facilities.
