As the 2024-2025 school year concludes, Deerfield Public School District 109 is preparing for the upcoming academic year by providing important information regarding fees and procedures. Parents and guardians are encouraged to log into Family Access to manage various tasks for the 2025-2026 school year.

The district has set a deadline of July 1, 2025, for early payment of fees, offering a $25 discount on instructional and technology materials fees if paid by this date. While fees for clubs, activities, and sports will be assessed throughout the year, families can find detailed information about all fees on the district's website.

Families with outstanding balances from the current school year should have received fee statements in May. Additional statements will be sent in June, with payments due by June 30, 2025. The district reserves the right to use a collection agency for unpaid balances after this date.

Regarding transportation, students living more than 1.5 miles from their designated school or in hazardous walking areas qualify for free bus service. Those living closer can opt for paid transportation if space allows. Interested families should contact the district via email.

For those experiencing financial hardship, fee waivers and payment plans are available through Rosa Castillo at rcastillo@dps109.org or by phone. Although the district does not participate in national food programs, it ensures meal provision based on USDA guidelines.

A new form called InfoCheck consolidates several annual procedures into one step. Parents must verify child information, update guardian contact details, confirm addresses, and review emergency contacts through Family Access. Changes require contacting specific district staff members.

Additionally, new publication permission opt-out procedures are being implemented starting with the next school year. Parents wishing to opt out must submit a signed statement to the Chief Communications Officer.

Parents can access further details about these processes on the district's website or contact specific individuals for assistance as needed.
