The Village of Lake Zurich has announced the renewal of its commitment to clean, renewable energy by extending its partnership with MC Squared Energy Services for the Green Power Choice Program from August 1, 2025, to July 30, 2027.
Since 2012, Lake Zurich has participated in electric aggregation to secure competitively priced energy for residents. This renewal continues the village's focus on sustainability, maintaining a commitment to using 100% green energy.
"If you want to participate — no action is required," said the announcement. Residents will continue paying ComEd at a locked-in rate of 10.9¢/kWh through July 2027, with all energy matched by Midwest renewable sources. There will be no changes to billing, service, or ComEd programs, and participants can opt out anytime without penalties.
Lake Zurich remains the leading community in Illinois for renewable energy output according to the EPA.
For questions or opting out of the program, residents can call (833) 740-0476 or email LakeZurich@mc2energyservices.com.
