Lockport School District 91 has marked a significant milestone with the groundbreaking ceremony for an expansion at Milne Grove School. Dr. Wilkey addressed parents, students, community members, and guests during the event.

Dr. Wilkey expressed gratitude to various groups involved in the project: "Our dedicated students, whose enthusiasm and growth inspire us every day. This addition is ultimately for you, your safety, and to eliminate any physical limitations that would prohibit the use of the second floor."

He also acknowledged the contributions of teachers and staff: "Our tireless teachers and staff, who go above and beyond to create a nurturing and enriching learning environment. This new space will further empower your incredible work in a new collaborative space."

Parents were thanked for their support: "Our involved and supportive parents, whose partnership is invaluable to our school's success. Thank you for your continued trust and investment in our vision."

The school board members and administrators were recognized for their leadership: "Our visionary school board members and administrators, for their leadership and commitment to providing the best possible resources for our students and staff as well as keeping safety a top priority."

Architects, designers, and construction teams were also credited: "Our dedicated architects, designers, and construction team, DLA Architects and F.H. Pashen, who have brought this vision to life and will now bring it into physical reality."

The expansion aims to enhance safety with a secure entryway and an elevator to improve accessibility between floors. A new collaborative space will facilitate meetings among parents, staff, or board members.

"This expansion represents more than just bricks and mortar; it's an investment in the future," said Dr. Wilkey. He emphasized that it would provide students with necessary resources to thrive.

Dr. Wilkey concluded by celebrating the collective effort behind this project: "Today is a day to celebrate our collective vision and commitment to the future of Milne Grove School."
