The Waukegan Park District is set to host a series of free movie screenings throughout the summer. The events will take place at various parks and the Waukegan Municipal Beach, with each film being suitable for families. Free popcorn will be available while supplies last.

The scheduled movie nights are as follows: June 14 at Victory Park, July 12 at Diversity Park, July 26 at Country Lane Park, August 8 at the Waukegan Municipal Beach, and August 16 at Bowen Park. Notably, the August 8 screening is part of the Touch a Truck and Waukegan Night Out event, while the August 16 screening coincides with the Ray Bradbury’s Dandelion Wine Arts & Music Festival.

Before each movie, the district's Arts Park Program will offer free arts and crafts activities. Participants can engage in creating drawings, paintings, sculptures, and more. This program was launched in 2011 to provide free art experiences across community parks and is funded by a grant from the Illinois Arts Council Agency.

Movies will start at dusk. Attendees are advised to bring their own snacks, blankets, and chairs for comfort. In case of bad weather, movies may be rescheduled. Additional details and the full movie lineup can be found on waukeganparks.org/movies.
