A man previously charged in a 2017 stabbing incident was arrested after allegedly threatening people with a knife at his residence. On June 25, 2025, around 9:40 a.m., Lake County Sheriff's Deputies responded to an aggravated assault report on West Wadsworth Road, Wadsworth. Joshua W. Marksberry, 39, reportedly threatened one person with a knife and another with violence before fleeing the scene.

Later that evening, deputies spotted someone matching Marksberry's description near Wadsworth Road and Dilleys Road. A perimeter was established, and Lake County Sheriff's Canine Units led by Deputy Kevin Zerbe and Deputy Andrew Martini searched the area. Canine Hemi guided officers to a tent where Marksberry was found and arrested without incident.

The Lake County State’s Attorney’s Office has approved charges against Marksberry for Unlawful Use of a Weapon by a Felon and Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon. Sheriff John D. Idleburg commented on the arrest: "We are very pleased our Patrol Division and Canine Teams were able to successfully apprehend this violent man, before someone was seriously injured or worse."

Marksberry is currently held in Lake County Jail awaiting an initial court hearing. The State’s Attorney’s Office plans to file for his detention pending trial. All defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty in court.
