A pedestrian was injured in a vehicle collision in unincorporated Round Lake, according to Lake County Sheriff's investigators. The incident occurred on July 4, 2025, at approximately 9:10 p.m. Deputies responded to the scene at Fairfield Road and Nippersink Road.

Upon arrival, deputies found a 67-year-old man from unincorporated Round Lake injured on the roadway. Initial findings indicate that a 2007 Nissan Versa, driven by a 22-year-old woman from Wauconda, was heading southbound on Fairfield Road when it struck the pedestrian. The man appeared to be crossing the road without reflective or contrasting clothing and was not using a crosswalk. The area where the accident took place is not well-lit.

The pedestrian was taken to a nearby hospital with serious injuries that are not considered life-threatening. The driver of the Nissan was unharmed and is cooperating with authorities. The investigation is ongoing by the Lake County Sheriff’s Office Technical Crash Investigations Team.
